The inevitable...
Jake is a lovable monster--an ankle-biter, a chewer, a destroyer--a 41-pound puppy bounding through the house like a bull in a china shop (a bull on crack). If we survive puppyhood, he is going to be one heckuva great dog.

(obviously I am bored and still not sleepy)...
...but I had to write this down. Peanut is asleep behind my head on the couch and he is having a kitty nightmare of sorts. He is growling and hissing in his sleep. Now, I have seen plenty of dogs dream, woof, and growl while dreaming, but I don't think I have ever seen a cat be than demonstrative while dreaming. I've seen paws twitch and such, but well, that was just funny. I moved and he startled awake, his big green eyes a little glazed from being ripped from his nocturnal adventures. He was fighting with someone - probably beating up Yuki - that's usually who is pouncing on his during the day.
I'm still hungry.

Don't you get tired of showering? I do. If I could be a guy, it would be an event rife with utter joy, followed by clean clothes and zipping out the door into the fresh air.
But showers include thorough washing off product from long hair, then proper conditioning. This is followed by the shaving of nearly 50% of the body (daily for me because I am the original Chia Pet...ch-ch-ch-chia) and then the rinse cycle complete with manual smoothness check (I am so sleepy in the morning I often just shave one leg if I don't check).
Then the work begins. Application of base. Application of powder. Application of base shadow. Application of eyeliner. Curling of lashes. Application of mascara. Application of lipstick. Then I spend about 10 minutes frying my hair and still only get about 60% of the mess dry.
Spray hair.
Sigh.
Apply lotion...possibly powder.
Sigh.
Oops, swath pits with deodorant.
Pull sweater over head.
Sigh.
Wipe deodorant streak from sweater.
Grumble.
Change sweaters.
Change pants to match new sweater.
Spray hair again as it is now a flat mess.
Brush teeth.
Sigh.
Change toothpaste covered sweater.
Change pants to match new sweater.
Run from house screaming.
Get to office to rest.

Gosh I hate to leave out the highlights of my career. Like the other day when I was conducting a relaxation group...everyone eyes closed...breathing deeply...then about 20 minutes into the exercise, I hear a couple of gags and open my eyes to a patient puking freely all over the floor...uh, um, continue breathing...uh...uh...
We moved to another room.
And the other day the cleaning crew had the joy of wiping down a poo-smeared bathroom. Now, I don't know what that was about, but I'm glad I didn't walk in on it.
There's never a dull day, and never a day that doesn't keep you human and very humble.
